The Infiltrometer is a field instrument designed to measure the rate of water infiltration on all turfgrass areas. It determines the downward flow of water through the turf and soil, providing an efficient way to test infiltration rates. With this simple-to-operate tool, the infiltration rate can be determined in as little as fifteen minutes.

The elapsed time indicator allows you to correlate irrigation time with the infiltration rate of your turf. Keeping a record of Infiltrometer readings helps track significant changes in water percolation.

Equipped with double ring accuracy, this tool has been trusted and used by hundreds of colleges, universities, and government agencies. It is designed for reliability and long-lasting performance.

This tool is also utilized by the EPA for measuring urban runoff and by some state DEP agencies for stormwater soil evaluations. Some states may require 6 and 12-inch rings or 12 and 24-inch infiltration rings (ASTM 3385), as regulations vary by state. Even with larger rings, the Infiltrometer is useful for "qualifying" the site, confirming that all soils have consistent infiltration rates, and minimizing the need for large infiltration tests on larger sites.
